Training your puppy not to chew your house apart

When it comes to your puppy's chewing habits. There are a few things that you should know. We all should know that when a puppy goes through its teething stages your house is the target. Luckily there is a solution to the problem. Using a bitter spray that you can find at your local pet store will help. Simply spray the solution on the places that you do not want your dog to chew. The puppy will taste the bitter spray and usually will stop chewing due to the bad taste in its mouth. By safe proofing your furniture and keeping clothing away from the puppy. You will have successfully trained your puppy not to chew. You can always confine your puppy to certain areas if all else fails however try this bitter spray before you change your house.

Bathing your puppy

When bathing your puppy you should always be gentle. The first thing you should do is place a small leash on the puppy. Do this so that your puppy can not move around. The leash will help you control the dog. Place them in a bath tub or an enclosure such as a plastic pool and use warm water. Next be sure to use enough shampoo to form a lather. You can put the puppy shampoo right on their body and rub it in. For white colored dogs you should use a stronger shampoo. The reason for this is because the stains or dirt on your puppy can build easier on white colored dogs. If your puppy moves around while you are washing them. Use the leash to control them. Be sure to wash the paws thoroughly as well as the stomach. These are two areas that may be hard to wash so take your time. When the puppy has been washed thoroughly then you can use a dry towel to dry them. After that you should dry them off with a blow dryer while they are placed on an elevated table. When using the blow dryer you need to hold the puppy in place because they might be agitated by it. Cleaning your puppy due to urine or poop that may be on them as well as dirt will ensure that your puppy stays clean and healthy. Sometimes it is an adventure however it needs to be done.

Please think of your puppy as a gentle dog

If you think of your puppy as a gentle dog surely it may never attack. Preventing a dog attack can also have to do with the cute puppy feelings. When you look at any dog in a gentle way. Don't be discouraged if your dog is still hyper or still going to the bathroom in your house. Which could be due to being hyper. Allow yourself some time to take your dog outside and give it plenty of exercise. When you exercise your dog it will get everything out of it and feel great. When you have an older puppy you need to know it is still a puppy. You should be prepared to correct it as if it was a few months old.

Is a Yorkshire Terrier " Yorkie " puppy for you?

The Yorkshire Terrier or " Yorkie " is a small breed of dog in the toy group. It has long hair that needs to be groomed frequently. If you prefer you may cut it's hair so that it will be easier to maintain. Due to it's size it needs minimal exercise but adequate exercise for a few hours a day off and on is important. For its size it is a brave dog but for the most part is a gentle loving dog. Similar to other dogs, it needs to be trained and loved to be a gentle dog or to bark at strangers if need be. That is what most dogs inherited through wolves. A Yorkshire Terrier puppy usually costs anywhere from $500 to $1000. They are a sought after dog mainly due to their size and ease of care.
